Disneyland Park is about 16 miles from Long Beach.  It was founded by film maker Walt Disney, and opened in 1955 to let families enjoy the magic of Disney's famous fairytale and animated films.  Today the park has several areas, each with its own theme -  Main Street USA, an early 20th century Midwest town, Adventureland, featuring jungle adventures, Frontierland, illustrating western frontier, Fantasyland, bringing to life fantasy, Tomorrowland, looking into the future.

California Adventure is a 55 acre theme park owned by Walt Disney Productions.  It is adjacent to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, and about 16 miles from Long Beach.  California Adventure opened in 2001 to re-create and showcase California's history, culture and landmarks  The park features five areas - Sunshine Plaza, Hollywood Pictures Backlot, The Golden State, A Bug's Land and Paradise Pier.

Knotts Berry Farm is about 14  miles from Long Beach.  It is known as America's first theme park.  What was once an actual berry farm owned by the Knott family  is now 160 acres of  rides, family shows and one of a kind attractions. It features  Fiesta Village and the Montezuma Revenge Roller Coaster, the Boardwalk with  its thrill rides, Camp Snoopy which is a favorite with small children,  Wild Water Wilderness with the Bigfoot Rapids ride, and Indian Trails which features Native American arts, crafts and dance.  Knotts is also noted for its food specialty products (fried chicken, jams, preserves, etc.).

Six Flags Magic Mountain is an amusement park located just west of the Valencia neighborhood of Santa Clarita, north of Los Angeles.  It is about  59 miles northwest of Long Beach, is noted for its thrill rides, and is a favorite among teens.

Universal Studios is a theme park that features Southern California's film industry.  It is about 35 miles from Long Beach.  The park features a narrated tram tour that runs through the studio's active backlot, but the staged events, stunt demonstrations and high-tech rides overshadow the motion-picture production that once lured fans in Universal Studios Hollywood.

Legoland California is a theme park in northern San Diego County, about 73 miles south of Long Beach.  It  focuses on families with younger children.  Legoland California opened on  March 20, 1999. It is split into eight sections which include The Beginning, Dino Island, Explore Village, Fun Town, Knight's Kingdom, Miniland USA, Pirate Shores

Seaworld San Diego is about 101 miles south of Long Beach.  Seaworld is a marine zoological park on 22 acres along the shore of Mission Bay in San Diego. Among its attractions are rides - Journey to Atlantis, Shipwreck Rapids,  Wild Artic, Seaworld Skyride, Seaworld Tower and shows with Shamu, sea lions and dolphins.
